Description

Smith Optics was born in 1965 when Dr. Robert Smith, a dentist by day and an enthusiastic skier, used dental foam and glue to create the first-ever snow goggles featuring breathable vents. This invention revolutionized winter sports and established Smith Optics as a brand that stands for innovative, durable, top-quality products up to this day.

Snow goggles Smith I/OX X5E/MK represent the culmination of Smith's decades long expertise in building, testing and refining snow goggles in cooperation with professional athletes. Streamlined frame geometry provides unrivaled field of view and makes Smith perfectly compatible with helmets from all major manufacturers including Bolle, Giro, Anon, K2 or Smith. Integrated exhaust fans assure superior anti-fog ventilation even in the most demanding conditions.

Smith's premium Chromapop Sun Red Mirror lens is perfect for bright conditions. Chromapop Sun Red Mirror lens has 16% VLT that allows 16% of the sunlight through the lens. For more information about lens VLT click here.

Lens technology included:

Interchangeable
Smith's frameless design enables quick and easy lens interchangeability and offers unparalleled value, fit and finish. Smith includes both a bright light and low light performance mirror lens, providing clarity in any conditions. The interchangeable series is optimized for performance and comprised of the finest optics, materials and technology.

Chromapop
Photochromic technology brings you lenses that adapt to changing light conditions, so you always have the perfect tint for the amount of light.

Spherical lens
Spherical lenses are built on a base curve in both the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axis. This pioneering shape provides the highest level of optical clarity, improved fit characteristics and increased volume improving fog performance.

Carbonic X-lens
Smith’s carbonic-x outer lens material is individually molded to offer optimum scratch and impact resistance, increased visual acuity and enhanced contrast sensitivity. The carbonic-x material meets class one optical standards.

5X anti fog
Smith's antifog lens is built upon the hydrophilic, micro-etched surface area principles of Fog-X lenses. 5X anti-fog inner lens has been engineered to provide over five times the absorptive properties of anything on the market and withstood fogging for over 120 seconds in controlled lab tests.

Tapered Lens Technology
Smith’s TLT straightens out the incoming light rays by progressively tapering the lens from the optical center toward the peripheral view. What this means for you is that you see with 100% accuracy and maximum comfort.

POREX™
Changes in elevation bring changes in atmospheric pressure. Smith’s patented Porex™ filter solves this issue by allowing the air pressure within the sealed lens chamber to equalize with the ambient atmospheric pressure ensuring class one optical standards.

Sizes

Majority of ski goggles are manufactured in standard size (M) and tend to have a universal fit for both adults and teenagers. This size fits majority of people and it's very likely it's going to be the correct size for you as well.

Large size (L) goggles have wider, taller and deeper frame size that fits larger faces.

Small size (S) goggles, on the other hand, have narrower, shorter, and shallower frame size. They fit kids and youth, as well as adults with smaller faces.
